So why the change of plans? There are a few reasons.
· First and foremost – the people have spoken, and our burner community feels at home in Boulder City. It’s much closer for most of us, and it is familiar. They know what to expect from our event and they enjoy hosting it.
· Permitting became a bit tricky in Pahrump, for things like alcohol consumption and dust abatement, and those kinds of things begin to add up and eat into the budget, which would ultimately drive up ticket costs.
· Economically and ecologically, it makes sense to hold the event in the closer location. Think of all the fossil fuels we will save by burning less gas!
· Damian has meticulously organized process information that is going to make this much simpler than starting basically from scratch. Thanks again, Damian!
So that’s the news. Boulder City it is. We’re hoping to have this thing official by Monday. Stay tuned, we’ll be calling for art grant/theme camp applications soon. And ticket sales will kick off soon, we promise. J
