The wheels are in motion to launch The Forgotten City for 2015. Read on for the low down on when you purchase your annual citizenship pass to the city and how you can get involved - we do really need you and your skills - if you are interested in leading, co-leading or stepping up then please plan to attend the Town Hall meeting on Sunday Feb 8th.
Las Vegas Burning Man Town Hall Meeting
Inviting all interested parties to participate in the town hall meeting. This is your chance to be heard with any issues, concerns and ideas for the burner community. It will also be a great place to support The Forgotten City, we'll be looking out for people hoping to participate in the event as leads and volunteers.
Sunday, February 8th 2015

Las Vegas Library

The price for individual entry into The Forgotten City has been set to $75. You'll be able to purchase your citizenship to The Forgotten City on February 9th at 5pm. This price is available to the first 500 citizens after which it increases to $110. The Forgotten City sells out every year and this year should be no different. Volunteers from last year will have the chance to purchase citizenship at a discounted rate and earlier.
Volunteering is a great way to participate at The Forgotten City and without volunteers the City wouldn't exist as we are completely volunteer run. You can sign up for volunteering here. Volunteers from last year receive a $25 discount to citizenship (with the appropriate number of shifts) and will be able to purchase that a day before it opens to the general public.
The Forgotten City dished out over $17k for Art in 2014. Your citizenship allows grants to be made in many diverse areas. Applications are open now and are due April 28th. Apply for a grant now
Theme camps are vital to The Forgotten City and last year we had a record 23 theme camps. Applications are now open and as an incentive you can receive 2 citizenship passes gratis for approved theme camps.
We're super excited to have more mutant vehicles than ever this year. For those bringing a mutated vehicle we'll provide a 1 citizenship pass gratis. We also fund fuel as an Art Grant. We want to lower the barriers to bringing out your art! Applications are open now. Also, if you have a suggestion on a mutant vehicle owner we should proactively contact please let us know and we'll make it happen.
Flame effects and open fire are permitted and we need a little info from you if you are going to bring out flame effects or open fire (eg burn barrels). You can fill out the necessary forms yourself or we can lend a hand with your submission. Ultimately we are inspected and permitted by Boulder City Fire Department so we need to know beforehand what to tell them to expect. Applications are open for flame effects and open fire and due by May 1st.
About Citizenship prices
Each year we run the line of supporting as many art projects with the funding available with the price of admission coupled with permitting and insurance costs. Last year we were lucky to have a surplus from 2012 which funded the temple construction and burn, this year we don't have that luxury. We also had insurance costs that tripled. In order to keep at least the same level of funding for art projects and expand capacity from 600 to 800 we've increased the ticket price by $10.
